Freeform Zendala
Drawn freehand, starting in the center. Actually started this design a few months ago and just found it today and added the last few rounds.

Colored Mandala
I started off coloring the background of my hamsa with what I thought were pale colored markers. But after coloring in all the background sections, I realized the colors were fairly deep. For contrast, I colored the hand with pale watercolor pencils.

Mandala Class #4
I finally remembered to watch the videos for the 4th of 5 mandala classes given by Julie Gibbons. Luckily she is nice enough to have the class available until the end of the year. In this class she demonstrated drawing a Hamsa, starting with an outline of your own hand. This was my very first Hamsa ever and was a lot of fun. I still need to color it in - I'm thinking of trying out markers for this. The first picture is my Hamsa as is with just an ink outline. The second image was colored in on the computer.

Mandala Class
I'm taking a very fun class on creating mandalas with Julie Gibbons. I should say I'm taking the class very slowly. After eight days, I have finished the day two class. But I don't like to rush through the videos!
This is my first and second mandalas - the first is colored with watercolor crayons and the second with colored pencils.

Zentangle Mug
I had a free coupon for a coffee mug over at Shutterfly, so I uploaded one of my Zentangle drawings to put on it. This was a test to see whether the ink and pencil drawing would look good. It came out very crisp and clear.

Gelli Prints
I signed up for a webinar at ClothPaperScissers that was all about Gelli plate printing. So I got out my Gelli plate and acrylic paints to play. Somehow, the only prints that look good are those done with my flower stencil. Here are two examples.
Above done on cardstock and below done on tissue paper.

Zendala Dare 92
I went back to a larger size this week. The diameter is 6 inches in real life. I also decided to use colors instead of shading. Visit The Bright Owl to see everyone else's interpretations!

Zendala Dare 91
Woohoo - on a roll! I didn't really like all the crossbars on this week's template, so I changed up the center a little. I forgot to do my shading, but maybe this one works without shading.

Zendala Dare 90
I can draw a zendala in less than two weeks! I often do the zendalas in a 5x5 or 6x6 format and that does make more space to fill up. This one is under 3 inches.
The favorite tangle that I used is Tagh. This is the first time I ever used it to fill seven adjoining shapes. I think it looks pretty cool!
