Monarch Butterfly

When my Autumn Joy sedum blooms, the Monarch butterflies come to feed. It's a beautiful sight when they're swooping around, landing and fluttering off again!

Fabric ATC

Decided to stitch up another bird ATC today. The background fabric is shimmery and I think it will be pretty in several projects.

I've decided to try some realistic sketches. I dusted off my copy of 'Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain' and re-read parts of it. Then I looked for a face on the web to use. I'm fairly pleased as it's my first attempt, but I'll be practicing.

This is for Illustration Friday - the theme is Alphabets this week. I decided to do mine before viewing everyone else's entries. But now I am hopping over there to see what great art other people have entered!

Some of my favorite things! I think I will draw some more castles - don't know why I haven't before....

My field mice visit every Spring and every Fall. How do they get in my house? Either they come in by cracks or they come in when my kids leave the door from the garage open. There is no experience the same as having a mouse stand up on it's hind legs and look you in the eye from across the room. I suppose this is a behavior of suburban mice who have no fear of humans!

This is my new style bird, inspired by a cut and layered and rubberstamped greeting card I saw on the internet.

IF - Captain

Since I was ready for the letter C in my series of characters, the Illustration Friday theme this week of 'Captain' worked out perfectly. See letters A & B in my previous post.
