Freeform Zendala

Drawn freehand, starting in the center. Actually started this design a few months ago and just found it today and added the last few rounds.

YAH

ATC using MomZenArtist's tangle named YAH - it stands for You Are Here. Hop over and check out her post here.

I was about to make a watercolor background when I spied my Super Ferby pencils. The blue and red are done with those and there's thicker gray shading done with a marker.

Zendala Dare 90

I can draw a zendala in less than two weeks! I often do the zendalas in a 5x5 or 6x6 format and that does make more space to fill up. This one is under 3 inches.

The favorite tangle that I used is Tagh. This is the first time I ever used it to fill seven adjoining shapes. I think it looks pretty cool!

Zendala Dare 88

A little late, bit at least I finished this zendala! I recently discovered the Mak-rah-mee pattern and incorporated it all around the edges. Other tangles used are Jessicup, Rick's Paradox and Cockles and Shells.

Zentangle Inspired Art

Happened by The Diva's blog and thought the challenge would be fun. Here is my tangled Moebius strip using the tangle Jessicup.

This is an ATC ZIA I did earlier this week. I have been busy sewing lately and haven't been tangling as much, but it's easy to pick back up and get in the zone!

Adventures in Monotangles #14

This week's tangle is Hollibaugh. I'm not sure that coloring in the background is soothing - I'm thinking tedious. But the end result is rewarding!

Weekly Challenge #122

The Diva's challenge this week is to use a repeating square pattern.
I designed my own square and used it as a border and a curvy fill.

Weekly Challenge #121

The Diva's challenge this week is to use the tangle Birds on a Wire. This is a fun tangle made with a row of swooping swirls :D

Adventures in Monotangles #12

The tangle for this week is called Verve. Here is my monotangle - I tried a different kind of string this time - one with some sort of shape :D And I added a bit of color, too.

Zendala Dare 60

This week the challenge is to redo a challenge template that was troublesome. Well, I had no issue picking out the worst, ugliest Zendala that I have posted. It was Dare 52 where part of the center was supposed to be replaced with Hollibaugh - instead of the 6 overlapping circles. Last time around, I drew a hot mess - LOL. This time I'm a LOT happier with the results!

Adventures in Monotangles #11

This tangle is called Fengle

Zendala Dare 58

Apparently I'm running behind on the challenges. This zendala was created for last week's post at The Bright Owl - see link on right.

Weekly Challenge #117

This week the challenge is to use the new tangle, Schway. Luckily I was already practising this tangle when I saw it posted. Here are my test runs.

I also had a blank string ready on my next sketchbook page, so I went with that.

Weekly Challenge #116

Creating a zentangle from a blind string is the basis for this week's challenge. I had to close my eyes twice and draw two strings because the first one did not cover much of the area.

And here is my finished tile:
